Porto de Leixões use iPortalDoc, the Document Management
Leixões… The port that is considered by many as the biggest engineering work ever executed in Portugal in the 19th century, two centuries later is still a reference to the national and international port sector. With over a year, the new Cruise Terminal puts Leixões once again on everybody’s lips by being honored with the international award for architecture and design. Considered the largest project ever of opening the port to the city, Leixões became an important entrance gate to cruise liners and passengers.
Taking into account the growth of the Port of Leixões over the years, APDL, Administração dos Portos do Douro, Leixões e Viana do Castelo, decided to implement a Document and Process Management solution – iPortalDoc to streamline the work method of the several departments. Based on iPortalDoc, APDL manages several processes that include documents of internal movement, letters, emails and supplier invoices. They also manage Quality processes (namely, the handling of complaints), Contracts and Procurement Procedures. The invoices issued on SAP are automatically integrated on iPortalDoc, via webservices, and electronically sent, via iPortalDoc Light, to clients (external entities).
